Lead Ethoxide, Pb(OC2H5)2
Lead Ethoxide, Pb(OC2H5)2, is obtained when lead in thin sheets is suspended over absolute ethyl alcohol through which ozone is passed. After washing with alcohol, and drying over sulphuric acid in vacuo, it forms a light yellow powder, which is soluble in water, but is readily hydrolysed. Several other lead alkyloxides have been prepared.
